Alternate Work Week Agreement Form (Calhr 183)

To request another work plan, a staff member must complete an application form for another work plan, in which the employee must indicate what their alternative schedule would be for each day of the week (including lunch break). [Note: it does not matter if an employee wants to work two hours or twelve hours on a given day – he must indicate a period for each day for his lunch break.] It is necessary for the employee to consider the changes at least two weeks before the start of the alternative work plan. The request for an alternative work plan must be completed and signed by all parties (staff, superior and personnel authority). The hr-manager assigned to the employee`s service reviews the employee`s level of remuneration, the proposed alternative schedule, the bargaining unit and the current category of overtime and determines the amount of the new overtime category and the daily hourly limit. If approved, an email is sent to DHR HRIS. The approved application form for alternative work plans is then forwarded to VSEA for verification. It is then up to the HR manager to insert the records for the employee into HCM and inform the employee that their alternative work plan has been approved. When an employee requests an “alternative work plan,” they want to establish a schedule that deviates from the standard plan from 7:45 a.m.m. to 4:30 p.m.

.m. five days a week. The most frequent requests from staff who try to work ten hours a day, four days a week. But regardless of the proposed schedule, the total number of hours must be forty hours per week or eighty per pay period (depending on whether or not the employee is exempt for FLSA purposes). . . .
